Greetings and Love once again to all our Friends and Family in Jesus Christ. Saludos y Amor de nuevo a todos nuestros Amigos y Familia en JesuCristo.
The month of February witnessed our Fellowship's first baptismal service. A small group of us made a short trek to Ojo Caliente (Hot Spring) located about 40 miles southeast of Colonia LeBaron. The first Tuesday of the month came with cold and drizzly weather, but with the hot water of the springs on the outside and the Living Water of the Holy Spirit from us inside nothing could dampen our hearts. What a joy to experience the True Love of Jesus as we identify with His death, burial, and glorious RESURRECTION to New Life through baptism. We will never forget this celebration of First Fruit.
Also, in February, we held our belated Samaritan's Purse children's outreach. We called it "Fiesta Agape" and scheduled it for the Friday before Valentine's Day. Calvary LeBaron's children invited others from the community to come and have fun, hearing about God's gift of Eternal Life through His only Son, Jesus. We sang together, played "Red Rover", had a "Treasure Hunt", and then had some Hot Dogs and Cupcakes. The finale was that none of the kids knew anything about receiving presents, so the all were surprised to receive a shoebox, chock full of cool stuff.

Coming up March 19th, Calvary LeBaron is hosting a Youth Purity Encounter for the young ladies of our fellowship, their friends and Mom's. Please join us in prayer for this very important ministry to our community's youth. Specifically, we are seeking some young ladies to come and share their testimonies and lead worship for this outreach.

The Lord God Omnipotent REIGNS!
This is His work and His alone! His sheep indeed do hear His voice. And it's truly amazing how the Lord uses those called by His Name to touch the lives of so many others each day here in our corner of Chihuahua, Mexico.
So many challenges last year, yet Calvary LeBaron continues to mature under the steady washing in the water of His Word and the inexhaustible Love of the Good Shepherd, our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
In Romans 12:15 the Apostle Paul exhorts us to: "Rejoice with those who rejoice and weep with those who weep." This year we did a lot of weeping as one youth, age 17, was kidnapped for ransom...we then rejoiced with the family as he was miraculously released only one week later, by the power of prayer! Then we ministered to Rosa's family as her father, Alma, who knows the Lord, went home to rest in Him forever. And again, we ministered to our community at large when two young men, both husbands and fathers, were murdered for standing up against the Cartels.

With the help of my Senior Pastor, Steve Warren and of Calvary Chapel Denton in Denton, Texas, my Regional Pastor, Jorge Olivas of Capilla Calvario Puerta del Manzano in Cuauhtemoc, Chihuahua, and our good friends and supporters, Bob Carpenter and Camelia Lincoln, I have been able to complete the steps as a "Legal Resident" which means I now have my "Green Card" and am recognized as a Calvary Chapel Minister in Mexico. Therefore I am entitled to perform all duties (marriages, etc) and ordinances (baptizms, etc) for our people with the Blessing of the Local, State and Federal governments.
We have been working this last year with Pastor Jorge in Cuauhtemoc on a Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child outreach for Colonia LeBaron. Our "Shoe Box Gifts" just arrived the end of December so we will hold our Children's Fiesta this next week...look for pictures to post soon. I look forward to a deeper relationship between our fellowship of Calvary LeBaron and that of Capilla Calvario Puerta del Manzano.
Calvary LeBaron served Christmas Dinner for Soldiers of the Mexican Army on duty here for our protection. Turkey and Fixin's were provided to the Army Posts in LeBaron and Galeana. Our ladies did the cooking and baking and our men were allowed into the compound to pray over the meal, as well as for the Soldiers' families and safety as they carry on the Drug War in our area of Mexico. We will continue praying for peace here in Chihuahua and all of Mexico so that those of you that are lead of the Lord to come serve along with us here from time to time can again do so with out fear...we do miss you all!
Calvary LeBaron continues to help Brother Cipriano and his wife, Sister Librada. They have begun a small group fellowship in the community of Quevedo, to the south of us here, on the way to San Buenaventura. They also continue their mission work to the indigenous Tarahumara's. We have been sending food and clothing with them to those living in outlying areas as well as to an orphanage in the mountains.
We received 2 Designated Gifts at the end of 2009: One Gift was to make the final payment for our house-church and make a down payment for the land adjacent to our existing property so that we can eventually build the classrooms and sanctuary we need. The second Gift is given to purchase a more dependable vehicle. We are truly grateful to our Lord Jesus Christ for blessing His work here through you all.
We believe and have faith that "where God guides, He provides". Your gifts and support are the Lord's provision for us week to week and month to month. This mission work is very different from a typical church plant in that most of our fellowship is made up of broken homes and families; mother's with children and little or no means of support. We help where we can. The economy is bad in the US and worse here in Mexico. Yet we will not forget to pray for your provision as well as our own...He is faithful and will provide.
OUR ONGOING PRAYER NEEDS:
* A hedge of protection for our security forces: the Municipal Police, the State Cipol, the Federales (Federal Police) and the Mexican Ejercito (Army).
* Courage for the Body of Christ here, to keep our eyes upon Jesus not our circumstances or our economy.
* That the Body of Christ here would continue to mature and see the needs of others before their own.
* That we would receive the funding for needed Classrooms and a Sanctuary for services.
* That we can arrange for visiting Worship Teams for our Youth.
* Teachers for the Youth & Childrens classes.
* That my Spanish would improve to where I can preach and teach in Spanish.
* Our health...we're fine now and pray it stays that way!
* The health of my mother, Lois Abbate (85). She is now living with Rosa and I, as her caretakers, here in Mexico.
* Our nations' leaders (Mexico & USA) especially Presidente Felipe Calderon and President Barack Obama for a truly deep and personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
Once again, thank you for being the provision of the Father, that we may continue to serve Him together. Please let us know how we can pray for you, your family, and your church!
